Brisbane Furniture makers / Woodworkers

jeudi 25 septembre 2014

I run a small custom furniture business - www.makimaki.com.au and have have an increasing demand that I can't keep up with just myself.

Varying range of work, from architecturally designed boardroom tables, dining tables using 300yo french oak, Japanese style beds, cabinets all the way to reclaimed hardwood workbenches etc.

If you're an experienced furniture maker, and are looking for work that could lead to full time, please let send me an email detailing your experience and some examples of your work.

This is not an internship, I'm relatively new maker myself (as some of you would know from my MANY questions on here) and would appreciate someone with experience.

The job requires problems solving from inital designs, so level of intuition and autonomy is needed.

Rates are negotiable and depend on the work being done - but a share of profits is probably the best scenario.

I pride myself on my work, and you must do too. It's not a stressful environment or busy factory spewing out carbon copies, it suits a responsible, fastidious worker with time to dedicate to the project and aren't looking to just do the bare minimum.

There’s lot’s of potential for growth here! If you're for a full time arrangement then the below skills are highly regarded:

Proficiency in Goolge Sketchup or equivalent 3D program.

Quoting capabilities

Own Transport

Design/engineering/architecture background

Existing customer base

Proficiency with machine maintenance

Experienced background in furniture making

My workshop is at Chandler.
