Help with eave support/strut to exterior of weatherboard house

New poster - long-time lurker...

I have a Queenslander weatherboard house which I am renovating including a house raise. As part of the raise, the front stairs need to be removed, however these also include a post which supports a small section of roof eave and rafter overhang. It is so small, if the post is removed I believe the roof rafters will support the overhang, however it may sag a bit over time.

My designer has a basic annotation on the structural drawings to install a 45deg 100x50 strut from the roof beam to the exterior wall. I am going to attempt to do this myself however I need some advice on how to attach the strut to the exterior house wall. Note that it is all weatherboard, and the strut can possibly go into the side of a window frame. I'm thinking the end of the strut may need to be notched out to fit into the side of the house? Any detail drawings would be appreciated of the best methodology of connection. As this is an existing house I don't really want to pull weatherboards off to search for the nearest beam/stud to connect into, but I'm not sure what options there are for making an external connection.

I am reasonably comfortable sorting a solution to connect to the rafters - a beam and coachbolts etc will work here. Ideally the same would be done at the house end of the strut. Presumably if this was being done at the time of building the house, the strut could be bolted to a stud, and weatherboards could be placed around it and edges sealed/filled.
