I'm on the verge of purchasing a bandsaw for my guitar building adventures and I'd like to hear some opinions from those in the know.
The saw will be used mainly for 2 purposes, cutting rough solid body shapes, and resawing various hardwoods (i.e. rock maple)
My budget isn't huge but as this is mainly a keen hobby I have plenty of time and patience so extreme speed is not a concern.
The two models I am considering are:
The Carba-tec BAS 350b
1.5 horsepower 14" currently on special at $650 ish

and the
Ledacraft BS 350
1.3 horsepower 14" that retails at $750 but I believe I can get for a similar price to the Carba-tec

Can anyone list any pros/cons of either unit? Is the power of either sufficient for my needs? Also is it worth waiting until the wood show hits Melbourne for some expo specials or is that much of a muchness?
