I just bought my first bandsaw. It is an older 14" Powermatic. Just about everything that could need fixing, needed fixing. I've gotten new bearings and cool blocks, and new blades. The lower wheel was missing several washers and a hold down bolt. I got all that squared away and think I got the lower wheel lined up with the upper wheel. The guy I bought this from said the tires were fairly new and they are orange…….neoprene? The problem is that as soon as the saw begins to run, the tires start creeping off of the wheel and fairly quickly the blade is off the wheels entirely. I'm guessing that this means I need NEW tires, but seasoned input would be greatly appreciated. I've experimented with blade tension and this doesn't seem to make any difference…….frustrating.
