Slabbing some Silky Oak

Hi all,

looking for advice on cutting up some silky oak.



i have two halves of a 6 long tree trunk. It's about 20" dia.



i slabbed one half at 2 1/2 " thick, alternating the cut sides so as to achieve a quarter sawn result.

im pleased with the result in terms of straight and true, but the 'silky oak speckle' i was hoping to find is not very evident.



any thoughts on an alternative cut before I start on the second half?
