Pebble paving over agg pipe drainage

Sooo the missus wants to put a river pebble path around the outside of the house. this area has already been earmarked for a strip drain thanks to the gardens slope and permanently wet areas under the carport etc but pebbles will negate a strip drain as an option i assume.

so i was thinking agg pipe. which in a way is perfect as it will be under a meter or so wide path of pebbles but i was wondering about having the use of a path above the agg pipe i assume i would put the pipe on the house side of the path next to the strip footings that are used for the carport etc. but my question is would the use of the path and weight of people / heavy wheelbarrows etc. damage the pipe? it would be in some pretty high traffic areas. Im guessing the aggregate around it would handle the load mostly but hummmmmm i dont know so thought i would ask.
