Does anybody have a good way to remove mill scale from hot rolled steel?
I have tried flap discs, flap wheels, sanding discs, 100 and 125 mil, different grades, rotary wire brushes including knotted ones, all from various manufacturers.
Cleaning a piece of flat bar, say about 100 x 10 and a meter long could consume four flap discs or sanding discs, they all exhibit a similar cutting tendency, start off good, but become dull very quickly, of course once dull about all that happens is a overheated work piece and more rapid wear.
Any help would be appreciated.
