Kreg Benchtop Router

I bought this table because it would do what i needed now and other than a really big piece it would handle anything i thought i would be doing in the future. I didn't use the steel base as i fitted the top to a mobile frame i had previously made. As soon as i pulled the top out of the box i noticed a bow so i clamped it to the mobile base and was happy that once screwed down it would be flat. I fixed the router to the insert plate but when i set it up in the top there was a 1.5mm dip in the centre from the weight of the router. This was not going to be good enough for working with small pieces so i improvised by glueing laminate to the collets that surround the bit. It worked perfectly and a straight edge will now sit on both edges of the table and the collet with no rocking.

Does wanting to be perfect mean spending loads of money ?
