G'day All. I'm not much of a wood worker and I have made my way here from the dark side (metal work) in the hope that a workworking guru can identify these little pulley things I found in the shed.

The screw part is steel and the rest is brass. The brass appears to have been cast around the screw. The pulley is approx 23mm dia and approx 5mm thick. Obviously they are made to have a cord of some description running on them but I dont know what for.
One thing that came to mind was in the old country mansions that had servants, they used a system of cords and pulleys run throughout the house to ring bells to summon the servants. I dont think these are big and strong enough for that though I might be wrong.
Maybe they were used to operate curtains or something. They look quite old but who knows.
So over to the brains trust.
Thanks in advance
