I bought this on fleabay a couple of weeks ago and it has now arrived from the US.

It looks in good condition, except that the blade is rather rusty and seems very reluctant to move. I would like to take it out to clean and sharpen it. I suspect that it has rusted itself into position and I need to work out a way to break down the rust first before I can move it. I'd like to do that without damaging the wood.
Any thoughts?
