BMP Open day, Some steam machinery

mardi 10 novembre 2015

Last Sunday went to the Burdekin Machinery Preservationists club open day to help operate their steam machinery. The facility is located in Brandon, a small town in the Burdekin area in North Queensland.
It is about a two hours drive each way for me so I don't manage to get there as much as I would like to.
The boiler is a small one fired by diesel fuel which is tested to 100 Psi but has limited output, so only provides enough steam to turn the engines on steam for display but not enough to drive any equipment.
The set up is named the John Tait Gallery to honour the club member who acquired the steam machinery and donated it to the club some time before his death.
I will attach some photos of the setup which I hope may interest some forum readers.
