I got some spindles at the Maleny Wood Expo this weekend. I thought they were Buloke as they were obviously a she-oak and the medullary rays weren't in stark contrast with the rest of the wood, but the vendor from whom I was buying them said they were Allocasuarina cunninghamii, aka River Oak.
I can't really find much on this wood online. Does anyone know much about it? I'd be interested to know how its Janka rating stands up to the other she-oaks. Pretty much anything... What have other people done with it? Is there anything I need to know about finishing it?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers,
Luke
