Paulcall combination saw/jointer

mercredi 8 juillet 2015

Hi

I've seen a few posts on old Paulcall combination saw/jointers in these forums and I'm hoping someone who has one might be able to help me out.

I've just picked up my dad's old saw from my brother, and want to restore it. It was in pretty good working order last time it ran, but it's a bit rusty now, so restoring mostly it means removing surface rust, lubricating moving parts and setting it up so's everything is sharp, square and level again.

Other than spare saw blades (I only have one ripping blade) the only thing I'm missing are the 12 bolts (socket screws) that screw into a tapping to secure the jointer knives. The knives and their spacers are out, and I've just dropped them off to be sharpened. If anyone who has one of these old beauties is able to pull out a bolt and let me know the length and diameter (and ideally the thread type) of the bolt, it will save me a lot of stuffing around trying to work it out by trial and error. Did the bolts have washers/spring washers with them, or just the bolts alone?

I'm excited about getting the old girl humming and buzzing again, so I'm keen to talk Paulcall! And if anyone has a manual, I'd love to see a copy!

Thanks
Marg
