Fixing plasterboard to lvl beam

Hey guys. We chucked the lvl beam in the other day removing the wall between kitchen and lounge. I was going to fix plasterboard directly to it as its flush with the existing wall we removed and should line up nicely with the lip of our old designer cornice. Just want to double check it's not going to affect the structural integrity of the beam if I'm nailing or screwing plasterboard to it?Imgur
