Greetings,
I originally made this post over on the Woodworking Forum's Clock Making sub-forum .... but then thought that maybe some of the members over here on the Metal Working Forum may also be interested.
The first is a series of YouTube videos about building a Clock mechanism. The series is a work in progress - he's about three quarters of the way through the build so far. My apologies if you've already seen this post over on the other side. If you have already seen this post on the other forum, then have a look at the last link in this post, as it is new to the forums.
A 12 Part Video (so far, more episodes to come) - Making A Large Wheel Skeleton Clock
And the Video Maker's web site link - ClickSpring Projects
And something else .... I'll bet there aren't too many people who have had gold swarf on their Lathe bed ....... Amongst many other techniques, this video includes some great detailed footage showing sheet metal spinning on a lathe, using 8 Carat gold sheet.
Building an authentic new Gold Case for an early 1800s Pocket Watch, to replace a case that does not come from that period - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nraAimX0TEg
Regards,
RoyG
