Gas bottle physical size.

I'll be returning the trolly I bought for the Mig today, very disapointed in build quality. So first job will be to build a decent trolly, can someone please advise what the diameter of a D size argon bottle is. I assume an argon/C02 bottle is the same. Thanks in advance.
