l went camping on a private property recently,(wimmera/mallee) within the boundary was a salt lake/flat, on the edges of this flat were huge paperbarks (sorry no photo's) l have never seen them as big as these.
l did a google and they COULD be Melaleuca halmaturorum, http://ift.tt/1dudn6T
My question - is the timber suitable for woodwork ie boxes, pens etc, l was told l could help myself to the dead stuff (heaps of that), but l got some she-oak and redgum (not enough room) instead.
l have seen tea-tree timber which is quite nice, but never paperbark.
Anyone have any clues?
Stevo
ps
l know take photo's next time.
