Hi folks. I finally got around to making a lidded box out of my gorgeous messmate (stringybark). http://ift.tt/WEao2N
I used to think Stringy was a bit boring, being so common an' all but wow!
I am stunned with every piece I cut up. It just hooks me on wood even more. The piece I put on the lid is Tea Tree. I incorporated the hinge into it. This is my first box from board rather than turned. The next box I make will be for the wife. She was green with the envy.
It was a gift to my eldest daughter. She did love it; which was a bonus.:D
It's finished with 4 coats of danish oil. Believe it or not it has not been stained, just clear danish.
