I'm looking for some handle timber for bench chisels. 35x35x170mm is about the right size. Looking for extreme figuring which is on a scale small enough to appreciate at chisel handle size.
Not interested in Gidgee, Tiger Myrtle, or She Oak (including Hairy/Flame or Buloke). Not because those aren't fantastic timbers, but because I already have some.
Things which would interest me include:
-tight fiddleback Tassie Oak/Euc
-highly figured Crow's Ash
-highly figured Queensland Maple or Walnut
but I'm sure there are a thousand others which would be lovely. Australian is a must. Hard is a must too, as they will be struck.
Thanks a lot!
Luke
