Simple drilling jig

jeudi 10 septembre 2015

Hi all, have been toying with the idea of making a tool to cut spheres with, a la Izzy Swann's idea.
First I had to make a jig to drill holes square and at 90 degrees to the gimbal.
Took 2 bits of wood, marked holes on them at the same distance as the radius as the gimbal and at half the thickness of said gimbal.
Clamped the timber at a right-angle with the holes at the same distance as the radius, push the stock into the corner and clamp the stock, drill the first hole then rotate the stock 90, put the small dowel in the other hole and push the stock onto it, clamp and drill again until all for holes are drilled. Also shown is the finished jig.
