Hi Guys,
I was rooting around my favourite scrapyard yesterday and came across a large tap ! It looks like it could be a second or a plug, the end has very little taper to it. It's centred in both ends with a 3/4" square tang. It doesn't have any makers name on it but it is greasy and in good condition. It is marked 1 1/8th inches X 11 tpi.
I've searched and cannot find anything that references threads of this diameter and thread pitch. I did find 5/8" X 11 which seems to be Whitworth. Anybody any ideas what this tap may be for.
Sorry no photographs, I didn't have my camera with me.
Thanks:
