I have a bass guitar which was given to me with a broken nut. The broken nut was also glued in with a lot of glue. When I knocked the old nut out there was a little bit of rosewood stuck to the bottom of the nut.
I want to file the slot but I dont have a nut seating file. I have some jewelers file bit I found they flex a little when I use them and my nut slot isn't dead flat.
Its a fender style 3mm nut slot. Is there another way I can do this without buying an overpriced file from someone like stewmac?
