Dust extractor bag

I just bought a second hand Hafco dust extractor similar to the photo.
It has some surface rust and is very dirty so I'm going to give it a clean up and repaint before using it.
My question is : Is the top filter bag washable ? and if so, are there any special instructions/requirements for washing it ?
