Hi - I need to create something like the below, to frame a stained glass panel. The glass is about 6mm thick, so the groove would need to be 7mm. And obviously I'd need 4 lengths, which I'd probably cut at 45 degrees at the ends.
I've tried sandwiching a thin strip between two thicker strips, and gluing them together, but it's pretty fiddly & messy. So I'd like to create it out of one piece. I guess only a router would be able to take the groove out, but I don't have a proper workbench. I would be ok with buying a hand router, if there was a way to cut that groove with a bench.
Has anyone got any ideas? Or does this sort of product already exist for another purpose?
Any tips much appreciated.
