Triton Wetstone Grinder

mercredi 3 décembre 2014

Hi folks

I was wondering whether any members own or have had the opportunity to sharpen any tools on this machine. Also, does anyone know whether it is available in Australia. I think Carbatec is the sole distributor for Triton gear these days and they certainly don't advertise it as being available.

I have read a few reviews and they all suggest it's really good value for money. It might need a little adjustment and truing when first purchased but after that it does a good job.

while I would love to own the Tormek, I just can't justify that amount of money, especially once you add a few jigs and accessories.

i should point out, I only want it for flat chisels, plane blades and a few other flat blade type tools ie I am not a wood turner so I don't need anything that can handle curved faces.

when it comes to chisels, I am not a big fan of conventional high speed stone grinders. I much prefer wetstone grinders. It may take a little longer but I think it's definitely worth it it the end.

Cheers

Dave
