A little while ago our fence fell over so we replaced it and at the same time I had an assessment overdue that required me to make a door (Im in the process of adding a joinery ticket to my cabinetmaking ticket).
So I though I would repurpose some of the palings as a decorative inlay feature in this door I had to build. And it was a good opportunity to get close and personal with my Dowelmax.
The frame is 90x30mm std pine stiles with 190x30mm rails and the feild panels are 17mm (Aussie made) formwork ply with the palings polyurethane glued to it.
All the joinery is 8mm ribbed hardwood dowels with a combination of titebond 3 and aquadhere exterior, once built I skinned the inside with 6mm marine ply.
I have 2 build videos below and some photos coming.
