Electrode containers

lundi 28 décembre 2015

I've been storing my rods in plastic bags for ages, got sick of that so I made up these five electrode containers from 90mm stormwater pipe, glued blanking caps on one end and threaded caps on the other, mounted them to a length of 235mm x 90mm pine board via some saddle clamps I found in the Honk Kong Shop and mounted the entire assembly underneath the bottom shelf of my welding table. The three on left the hold 3.2mm, 2.5mm and 2mm rods whilst the remaining two tubes hold miscellaneous rods. I've yet to make up a C spanner to tighten the caps.
Amazingly Iplex, Vinidex, Holman, Za Ding, what have you all seem to use a different thread, none seem to fit that well and almost none are compatible with each other??? I ended up with Iplex threaded fittings and Xa Ding caps as the best fit.
