Dear Woodworkers
My father (80) was given a lathe for his 21st birthday (1957). It is an old Herbert lathe which he used until a few years ago when he had to move to a suburban house. It has lost the protective cover for the blade.
Anyway, it is sitting now in our shed and I was trying to find out something about it. Is it possible to source an old (replacement) cover for the blade? What should I do with it? I can't bring myself to take it to the dump but, at the same time, I can't use it? Is there any way I could make it safe to use again?
I would appreciate your advice.
Kind regards
Sue
