Hi All,
I'm deciding on what pine to use for framing outdoor sauna.
So far:
1. Untreated: Although framing will be fully covered with foil insulation, I'm inclined to use untreated pine because the foil might get damaged, and I don't want to breathe poison of treated pine. The sauna will be built in such a way that I can take it apart any time, so I don't worry about termites as the construction is small and it will be very easy to inspect around perimeter. I do worry about rotting due to condensation though, however not a problem if it's going to be OK for 5-8 years.
2. H2 - no protection against rotting, only termites. As I don't worry about termites, nothing to gain for me from using H2.
3. H3 - this will protect against rotting, but at what price? To sit in the sauna and know there is a lot of chemicals in the walls and they might leak?
What would you recommend?
Thanks,
Tommy
