New Triton router table - how to change plastic center ring

mardi 4 août 2015

The title doesn't make clear the problem I have.
The black plastic center ring which twists out to allow a larger hole for bigger router bits is not level with the table.. It sits slightly above.
I cannot get it to sit lower into the hole. This causes the job to jump up as it goes across, resulting in an un-even cut.
Very dissapointing. I want to use the triton with a Grifkins jig.
I have tried sanding it down but am not happy with the result. (Probably ruined it and weakened it too).

Has anyone got a solution, eg made a retrofit one?
It is the black ring in this photo I scrounged from the net (I don't think it is copyright).
Any help appreciated.
