This is a great saw, accurate, effortless and very quiet when running. It doesn't get a lot of use though, maybe an hour or two a year since Ive owned it. It was one of these rare cuts where I pulled the cover sheet of to use it that I had a minor ' oops '.
The table was clean and clear, lets turn it on. ( Insert oops here ) I was expecting the crisp quiet high speed whirr but instead got a monastic hummmm. I quickly switched it off to investigate.
The saw had been lowered to the extent the blade was touching the bench. I hadnt noticed this before flicking the switch. Power had been running but the blade couldn't turn.
I then raised the blade, crossed fingers and flicked the switch. The blade started to turn, but nowhere near the normal speed, not even enough to consider a test cut. 2 seconds later, Click, the on board reset switch must have stopped play. Turn off/ on at wall, try again, same result. Remove blade and assembly to bolt blade in place, try again. It spins at lets say 10% normal speed without setting of the reset button. Put blade back on, slow spin, click, reset turns it off.
Asking here is my first step to fixing it. Any suggestions ?
