LVL - Will 2 x 300mm make a 600mm LVL?

Hi,



I am doing an extension and structural work as owner builder in Perth.

Going through a local Timber company I have asked for a 600x75 Hyspan LVL as specified using the DesignIT sofware.

Tile roof, span 9.6m RLW 2.4m.



They say not available and to use 2 x 300x75 sections.



I have not seen anywhere in AS1684 or any suppliers docs that this can be done or the way it would be joined if it needs to be joined..



Does anyone have experience with this method or is it just them not being helpful?

I will check with my engineer anyway, but just seeing if anyone could advise first.
