Another new Laguna LT18 3000 delivered - but not so pleased

And I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this or has an opinion on it.

It started with couple of minor niggles that then turned to what I think is a somewhat more serious concern.

The minor ones: Firstly the sales rep' had given me every reason to believe that the saw would be delivered constructed, checked over and ready to go. As I'm working away from home and only get back for roughly 2 1/2 days a month, that was important to me and if I'd been advised otherwise I'd happily have paid the supplier extra to put it together and check it.

I paid for delivery and it was delivered while I was away at work, so my wife had to take a morning off of work to be there to receive it for me, but it meant that it was there for me to "unwrap" and play with on my weekend home - just gone.

Sadly it did come needing construction, in so far as fitting the motor, table and a few bits and pieces. No huge drama, maybe 2 hours up to checking it over prior to running it up without a blade and then putting a blade on it.

The second minor niggle was that the sales rep' had advised, when I enquired, that it came with a blade and I ordered and paid for a second blade (resaw king) as a spare. However it didn't come with the expected blade.

The more serious concern though, is that when I was checking it over before running it up and checking that everything turned and moved as it should, I found that the frame seems to be quite badly warped/misaligned.

The upper guide post/bar, that I understand should run up through a hole in the top of the upper casing to allow the guide to be taken up to maximum resaw height, won't run up as it should and hits the top housing:

and looking at the saw from side on shows the frame quite clearly out of square:

I've emailed the supplier and am waiting on a reply, both to the minor issue of what I was expecting from them as the retailer, and the more serious issue of what they might be able to do with Laguna to replace the saw and ensure that the replacement is up to scratch.

These 3000 series may be the cheaper option to the HD Italian made versions (that we can't get anyway), but they are still a very expensive bit of kit and for the price, I think it reasonable to expect that it is spot on.

I had done a lot of research on bandsaws in this price range and capability prior to buying it and I'd rather pay a bit more for something to be right than to be unhappy with it.

Thoughts??
