I finally got a little time and finished off my 1st cigar pen. Tony (Perfect Pens) talked me into trying it so i grabbed a couple of kits of him and I finally got around to it. I used the 5min epoxy to glue the tubes, 3 coats of thin and 3 coats of medium CA. No idea what the wood is, came from MapleMan.
Still having trouble with the lateral wobble on the lathe which made turning the blank down a little difficult. I have mentioned this in the general turning forum HERE and am looking for a little help from a Brissy / Wynnum / Manly local if possible !
Here is the cigar anyway ... I am still having a little trouble with pitting in the CA finish (might be able to pick it in the 2nd photo), the medium just doesn't seem to be curing properly even after a hit of accelerator perhaps this is part of the problem ??
