Hi all
I recently bought a set of new knives for my 15 inch thicknesser from a reputable (I wont name them) supplier.
I installed them into my thicknesser, then ran a piece of wood through and checked the piece with my calipers. It was out by about 3 thou.
I then checked the blade height again. I check the blade height at each and of the drum when installing blades. This time I checked the middle. The middle was much higher than the ends.
I removed the blade and held it up against my good quality veriatas straight edge. It was bowed up towards the centre.
I feel I should not have to check that the blades are straight before I install them. I just assumed they would be perfect, after all they do cost a little over $100 for 3 blades.
Has anyone else come across this problem?
