Steam cleaner ignition query

vendredi 25 décembre 2015

This is the diesel ignitor from a 240V Warwick H70 steam cleaner that uses diesel to heat the water. All the electrics are missing and need to be recreated. I'm sure that someone on here will have messed around with one of these or similar.

Does the spark need to be continuous or is the flame self sustaining once the diesel is ignited?

What is needed in the way of electrics to provide the spark? Could it be as simple as a 240V to 12V transformer and then feed the 12V AC into an automotive ignition coil?
