A friend has asked me to make and install a few corner shelves in her kitchen. Shelves will be made of 20mm plywood and shaped as per the diagram. Size is (about) 400x200
The question was raised as to how to mount them, preferably something that doesn't show. (my initial plan was to use a strip of 25mm aluminium angle on the top surface)
A quick search shows that a common way to do this is to have two posts sticking out from the wall with holes drilled into the edge of the plywood but I can't see that this would work for a corner mounted shelf.
Current plan is to use hollow wall anchors and cut two (or more) sloping grooves in the plywood to allow the screw to be tightened into the wall mount.
Load on the shelf will be light (a radio or perhaps pot plants or other kitchen paraphernalia). Wall is plaster board.
As I'll be cutting these on the CNC router, the sloping slot shouldn't be a problem.
There's probably an easier way to do this that I'm sure someone here can tell me. :)
