Been looking into using some Brusso butt hinges like the JB-102 shown in the attached pdf file.
I was wondering what depth to install the hinge. Typical butt hinge thinking is that the rear side of the lid and the rear side of the box align with the centre line of the pivot pin.
Looking at the drawing for the Brusso hinge, it would appear it is designed so that only the width of the leaf is screwed to the box, and there is some 0.195 ( 5mm) of the hinge projecting out the back of the box, and that would be unsightly.
Q1. Would there be any adverse impact if this hinge was fitted as per usual, with the centre line of the pivot pin in the same plane as the rear of the box and lid?
Q2. Is there any specific preference as to which leaf of the hinge is screwed to the lid, and which to the box side?
