Twas Christmas afternoon and I'm sitting out in the workshop escaping the festivities and bored out of my skull when I spied a couple of unused ball bearings that I've had lying around for at least 20 years waiting to come in handy. The ID is 120 mm and OD is 260 mm so these are fairly hefty bearings!
Some surgery with the faithful 9" grinder liberated the balls from one of the bearings, a bit of lathe work and TIG brazing and some time later I ended up with a couple of 3rd hands for the welding table.

As a side benefit the inner race will be used to tram the mill head.

Now all I need to do is work out what to do with the left over balls...
