I am 3/4 of the way through making a box for my 9 yr old autistic grandson for his Wii and his WiiU controllers, games and AmiiBo characters. Don't ask me what they do, haven't a clue. Just realised I have exactly 2 weeks today to have it finished, and that includes a week for allowing the oil to cure.
The box is made of 13mm thick Maple Silkwood with a floating jarrah lid. It measures 420W x 230D x 180H, and is fairly heavy, esp with the jarrah lid.
The lid lift is a circular piece of jarrah glued to the front of the lid.
I need some good handles on either side of this box to allow it to be lifted and carried around by a 9 yr old, without dropping if he is bumped. Normally I would make some like the attached, but in this case it does not allow for a good enough grip.
Can anyone please suggest suitable handles I can make or buy, preferably out of jarrah to match the timber of the lid
