This is the first time i post in this forum but have been following you guys for many years. Great website!!
I have decided to build a workbench that could have both a table saw and router built in.
I really liked the idea of the ultimate workbench from Ron Paulk but wasn't sold in the 2 halves bolted together.
The reason been that I wanted to get a perfect flat working surface.
So I decided to downsize it to 2100 x 1200, that way I can pack it in my van if I have to and also because my wife and I are still looking for a bigger place and we don't have much room at the moment.
The top and bottom sheets are 18mm plywood and the sides / middle structure are all 15mm plywood with the exception of the 1200mm front and back which I used the left overs from the top and bottom 18mm sheets. Everything is glued and screwed except fir the bottom sheet(only screws there)
I have 2 table saw tables (one avarage and the other one crap" Ryobi"), so I decided to use my hitachi built in the workbenc. I wanted to keep it simple for the saw blade adjustments so I kept the plastic cover that has the the knobs to lift/lower and tild the blade and cut the rest so that it could fit in my workbench (height of 300mm).
For the router plate I drew a quick sketch on corel Draw and cut a 10mm thick black acrilic sheet in my in-law's laser cutting machine(very lucky to have that nearby:) )
I have a small business so not a lot of time in my hands but today I finished screwing the aluminium extrusions for whats going to be my fence rail and mitre slots.
