Einhell bandsaw review

dimanche 8 juin 2014

So was at bunnings the other week and saw this bandsaw near the trade desk that looked a little different than the usual 8 inch jobs the have in the tool section. I take a closer look and I find it is the einhell bp305 bandsaw.

Best part is it was on clearance for $150. Which I thought would be a good opportunity to upgrade from the handheld tools I currently have.

So out of the box here are the pros and cons

Pros:

Cheap

Large table

Good height capacity at 175mm

1hp motor

Decent fence setup

Cons:

Crappy standard blade

No stand in the box

Table does not allow use of inserts

Poor fitting mitre gauge for t slots

So after putting things together I had a bandsaw that struggled to cut straight and I thought I had made a bad choice.

After replacing the blade with a new on from hare and forbes along with shiming the table and fence for squareness it now works wonderfully an will cut straight and true every time. I've also built a stand to give it a more permanent home in the shop.

After all this my only real complaint is a very slight out of flatness on the table where the blade slot
