Hi, this is my first post, but I am confused over the best finish for a coffee table I am making. The table is made from NZ Kauri timber. The table is raw timber at present and has been sanded to 250 grit. I have thought about a number of finishes to the extent that I am now very confused. I have only ever put a few coats of polyurethane on my previous projects. I want to make this a good finish. Suggestions are very welcome! Ps, does anyone know what the New Zealanders refer to as "Amber-titian", it appears to be a very warm coloring and shows the timber grain well?
