I met up with Willy and a number of the Wandi club members early in the morning at their "firewood" pile yesterday. Basically at an old sand mine where the original timbers were pushed into windrows. They guys had raided the numerous piles over the years for firewood and turning blanks, Jarrah/Sheoak/Woody Pear/Wando and heaps of burls amongst them.

Well my shoulder is pretty stuffed at the moment, so I could help the guys much, but did manage to hint which pieces I thought were worth putting in my car , mainly Woody Pear (Chocolate Sheoak) and Black Spec Jarrah (basically spalted Jarrah). As I didn't have the sides on my ute, slowly the back and front seats filled with large chunks of timber :B.
Next I met up with my daughter and Willy and his family gave us the royal guided tour of Garden Island , followed by a great picnic lunch down on the beach :2tsup:. I then followed Willy back to his place where I proceeded to take over his bandsaw to cut up all the timber into blanks to minimise storage and weights. Willy also added a few bits to my pile he thought I might be interested in :p:p.

So after sending 0.5t on a pallet back home just last week to empty the trailer, she is filling again fast
So a big thank you mate :2tsup:
