Still playing with chemical etching

mardi 30 juin 2015

Well I have decided I like the chemical etch on brass better than the rotary engraving or a stamp. Seems more definitive with the darkening. Phosphoric acid highlight.
The plate I am not so sure about. I may try to darken it a bit. But what ever I use I don't want it to rub off. Burnishing wheels etc. will tend to clean those etches right out. I like to stay with a semi gloss on the plates. Thoughts?

Otherwise, nothing new going on in my neck of the woods. Later.
