I have just acquired a Hercus 9" ARM, Serial # 13862 (made in 1971) and I am looking for a spare parts manual to suit this machine before I launch into pulling it apart, particularly as the gear box requires some work to repair transport damage to castings on both Gearbox tumblers arms (thin section of casting on the end of tumber arms broken off) and the two plungers (bent). See attched photos :~.
I have had a chat ro Mal and he is looking at some options for me.
I have also had a few thoughts about the option of getting someone, with better kit than mine, to bore out the plunger holes in casting and set in a brass or steel bush to create the stub to hold plungers. Not sure if anyone has tried that.

Back to the parts manual. I have a pdf copy of the Hercus 9" Swing Percision Lathes Spare Parts Manual Third ed'n 1965 but it does not cover this machine and I am aware there is a 1971 Fifth Edition out there but I have not been able to find a references to obtaining a copy.
If anyone knows were I can find/buy a copy I would be very happy to hear from you. If you happen to have spare parts available for a matching gearbox I would be overjoyed to hear from you.
I am also looking for information on the correct change gearing setup for this lathe. There does not appear to be a gear chrt out there covering metric machines thant I can find.
Is there any special lubrication required for the roller bearings or just use ISO68 hydraulic oil as for plain bearing machines?
