The price was too good - managed to get a discount on the discounted price! :q So, before it arrives, I'm thinking about blades. I'm new to bandsawing so have no idea what would be a good first set of blades. Have read that the bi-metal blades last much longer than the carbon ones so am leaning towards them.

Are there any general rules for bandsaw blades I need to know about?

Most of my work will be:
- general curves (e.g. curved draw fronts, table legs)
- straight cuts (e.g. ripping, stuff that I might normally do on my tablesaw)
- occasional resawing
Are there any general rules for bandsaw blades I need to know about?
Thanks,
