8 Inch Abbot and Ashby Bench grinder

Hi all,



I have an A & A 8 inch bench grinder, and I want to improve its versatility. I have a grinding wheel on one (Left) end and a linisher/sanding disc on the other. My questions are:

Are guards available with a hole for an extension spindle, or is it OK to cut a hole, or just leave the plate off?

Are Non tapered extension spindles available, or alternatively (Ive never thought about it) are while wheels that screw on like a buffing wheel available?
