I'm sure this would have been covered previously, and looking through old posts I couldn't really find what I was looking for, so I apologies if it's been done to death.
I'm finishing off a banksia nut that was filled with resin. When finishing, do I sand to my usual 600 like I would for timber, then Micromesh the blank to get the resin looking great, then do my usual ca timber finish?
Or will the micromesh on the raw banksia nut be ripped apart from the timber fibers?
I will be doing a few with different timbers, not just the banksia nut so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Gab
