Just got back from the local scrappy.
I found this nice big mill vice.
The stand it's on was unusually heavy, and I couldn't work out why they would have the lower shelf on such an angle. Can anyone guess????

Looks like they needed some counter weight for some thing heavy on top of the stand. so the grabbed the closet heavy items that looked like fitting.
Get a free surface plates with every stand purchased.
Now for the sad news...I asked the bloke if he gets much machinery through. Occasionally. He's got some skips at a factory now that the new owner is trashing big lathes & stuff...I tried but couldn't get any details out of him as to where. He said he didn't know, which wasn't true because he delivered the skips.
